Whitehaven: No New Coal AGM Action: 26 October

Whitehaven Coal is one of Australia’s largest coal companies, and they’re planning to DOUBLE production by 2030 with four major new coal projects. Whitehaven threatens the climate, First Nations Cultural Heritage, waterways, and farmland as they expand to dig and burn more coal.

JOIN US on Wednesday, October 26th at The Mint, 10 Macquarie Street, Sydney as Move Beyond Coal takes to the streets with a rally outside Whitehaven Coal’s Annual General Meeting! We’ll get to hear from Traditional Owners, farmers, and concerned citizens who have been resisting Whitehaven’s destructive coal extraction for the last two decades, sending a clear message to Whitehaven’s investors and board directors as they enter the AGM.

Whether you’re from the bush, the regions, the city or the sea, your voice is strong, and Whitehaven needs to hear it! Let’s make some noise to remind Whitehaven’s board and investors of the catastrophic climate impacts caused by the continued mining and burning of coal, as well as the devastating risks to First Nations’ cultural heritage.

Covid Safety: Unfortunately the pandemic is still very real and present in our communities. To keep everyone safe we ask that all participants not attend if you have symptoms (even if Covid negative, but potentially with the flu or cold), wear N95 masks, and be up to date with Covid vaccines.
